England’s new national history curriculum for five to 14-year-olds, which was rolled out in 2013, offers a case in point: it whitewashes empire and its legacies. To be fair to Oxford, such a critique could be made of many – if not most – institutions of higher education in Britain and the West, not to mention primary and secondary schools. But a key component of the campaign is a quest to de-colonise Oxford’s curriculum by making it less eurocentric and by including more works by people of colour and women. Media attention on the campaign has focused primarily on a group of students’ attempt to remove a statue of the British imperialist Cecil John Rhodes. The Rhodes Must Fall in Oxford campaign has drawn attention to the way Britain continues to live with the legacies of its empire – and the failure to confront the history of its imperial exploits.

Susanita, Mafalda's gossipy best female friend with blonde hair and the dream of marrying into riches.Manolito, a shopkeeper's son obsessed with money and business to the point he is quite dumb about everything else.Felipe, a dreamy boy with a deep resentment for school, huge insecurity problems and huge teeth.Raquel and the father, Mafalda's affectionate but nondescript parents. Little Miss Snarker (maybe one of the first examples), a precocious and politically opinionated girl and no, she was NOT run over by a soup truck, despite what the Fanon may believe The main characters are (in order of appearance in the strip): In 2009, a statue of Mafalda (and her friends) was unveiled in Buenos Aires. It's been translated to several languages. The strip ran from 1962 to 1973, with a weeklong hiatus in March 1965 and a longer interruption from December 1967 to June 1968. Unlike the timeless world Charles Schulz's creations inhabit, Mafalda and her friends are deeply concerned with world politics, war and the state of humanity. It could be sketchily described as " Peanuts with politics". Mafalda, Argentinian cartoonist Quino's masterpiece, is perhaps the most popular comic strip in the Spanish speaking world. I don’t want to talk about every different location, because half of the magic is discovering the places, but I will say that my favorite has to be the Russiaverse. Every dimension has its own unique aspect, and not only does it make for a neat location, but it also has a different impact on the characters. There are so many fascinating settings in this book. “The memory stings - and I hate that, I hate how all the good memories have turned into things that hurt - but I need the pain.” It allowed him to jump through dimensions and hide in other versions of himself, but Marguerite has a Firebird of her own, leading to an epic inter-dimensional chase where nothing is what it seems.
